Since last we talked...

I cut all my hair off.  8 inches for a free cut.  It's pretty short and I might look 18.  But that's sounding pretty good since "29 and holding" comes in a few months.

We've made two batches of homemade ice cream.  Both have been a traditional vanilla recipe with pureed berries from my in law's garden.  Blackberry was good.  Strawberry was amazing.  Our White Mountain ice cream maker rocks.

Bug has finally decided that she likes sleep.  Glory hallelujah!  She is predictably sleeping from 7 to 7.  Most of the time, I have to wake her in the mornings.  She's spoiling me with two 2 + hour naps a day and that delicious night-time sleep.

I transformed a changing table into a bar cart,  I still need to have my dear husband put casters on the legs, but we're pretty much done.  I used Annie Sloan chalk paint in French Linen and LOML had a glass vendor cut some mirrored glass shelves for me.  I need to snap a pic. Bring on the dusting.

We've harvest our first veggies from the garden.  LOML brushed squash and zucchini halves with Worcestershire, salt, and pepper and then grilled them.  Coming from a girl that doesn't care for squash and zucchini all that much, they were pretty tasty.

And finally, Bug has become a strict bottle eater these days.  My lactating parts gave up the good fight.  It's funny that this coincided with sleeping through the night...A trend I pleaded with God for and one I didn't.  After I cried (a lot), I realized how much easier life is.  Nursing is not for the lazy.  It's a precious sacrifice.  We made it to 5.5 months, 1.5 past my goal.  I can live with that.

No pic of your new 'do??? I want to see it! The girls are so stinkin' cute (as usual). Friend, my lactating parts gave up the good fight recently, too. I was devastated, miserable, depressed. But in the end, it's about what's best for baby, right? I think I'm okay. :-) Love you!

Can't wait to see the bar cart. And I've been eyeing that color paint for a mirror for the boys' bathroom. When oh when will I get to that?!

The girls are precious. I've been nursing for 4.5 months and I'm trying to hold out for 1.5 more. Trying!

And my littlest has been waking up a lot lately. I was so spoiled for awhile. Hoping he'll catch back on soon!

Hey! You don't know me - my husband and I both graduated from Auburn though - War Eagle! and I came across your blog through Megan Tyree...Adams I think is her married name? I love your blog...We have a lot in common with having husbands that love hunting and two lil' ones the same ages...except mine are boys:-) But I wanted to ask you about this whole sleeping deal/nursing. I have been STRUGGLING to understand WHY my 8 month old still wakes up anywhere btwn. 5 and 6am...TOO EARLY! I don't nurse then either so it's not like he's thinking ok time to eat? He goes down about 7:30pm. I am thinking I am about ready to stop nursing to see if it has anything to do with it? My oldest son Wyatt is and was a great sleeper so I'm sad, confused and TIRED;-) Walker, the 8 mo. old, is sleeping straight through till then but still I think he should be able to sleep longer? What do you think? I would give ANYTHING for us to have a 7am wake up call - this is my goal:-) Advice? Sorry for the long, random message from the complete stranger!:-) Your family is precious by the way;-) Sincerely, Susan Smith

Hey! Random question - what is the children's book that you and LO like about a red barn or something? I can't find that post on your blog, but I am trying to buy a present for a friend's birthday! Thanks for your help!

You can just email me back!
