I've fallen off the map...and really enjoyed the ride. While we haven't been up to much, we've been up to everything. A trip to Dixie to visit my mom, a girl's weekend in Arkansas, a chipped tooth, a SOLD house, and a whole lot of nothing.
I am learning quickly that not working outside the home requires a schedule within the home. I have watched myself let the laundry pile high and the dust bunnies higher as I think, "I'll get to that later." There are little lives to take care of, puffs to put into mouths, sippy cups to be filled, steamed vegetables to be pureed, bottoms to be wiped. I've got to get this figured out. I think I'll take the Scarlett O'Hara approach to things and work on it tomorrow.
Little One did indeed chip her tooth. It was quite traumatic and our regular dentist was pretty sure it was going to require a pulpectomy (a root canal for a baby). With terror in my heart, we headed to a pediatric dentist that couldn't see any exposed pulp. He put a filling over the sheered backside of the tooth and evened up the "snaggle." Her new tooth is beautiful. And now I find myself saying ridiculous things like, "don't run! Don't even walk! Let's just sit here. Be careful with your new tooth!" I sure hope that time will heal my fear.
The chipping happened just before I was to load up and head out for a weekend away. WITHOUT CHILDREN. Two nights. Two mornings. 13 dear friends. Whole cups of coffee consumed without being reheated. Tankinis and stretch marks, laughter that didn't stop. My husband rocks. When the opportunity arose, he didn't complain, he didn't fuss. He simply said, "you have to go." And I did. Balm for my soul, I tell you.

I love this post, minus the tooth chipping! And miss you tons! Im telling you now we HAVE to get together soon! I can't wait to hear about your girls weekend. I'm dying to live vicariously through you! I'm so envious!
Oh and that pic of the littlest with her daddy is so sweet and she like mine is getting so big!
So excited about you selling your house that's AWESOME!
Keep me posted on the tooth!
Call me!
That's a sweet husband...and a really good momma to take the time away. So glad you enjoyed it.
Woo hoo for a weekend away! That's awesome! Sorry about the tooth. It could be worse: my nephew collided into a coffee table and knocked his front tooth out. Completely. Gone. There's a hole there until his permanent tooth comes in.
and also bathing-skirts. :)
