Did you know that a Ginkgo tree is considered a living fossil? I never noticed them before living in this part of the South.
They are the most brilliant gold these days. Terrifically brilliant.
The fan shape of their leaves...well, as a child I'd have used them as fairy brooms.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I have much, MUCH to be thankful for.
Today, I'm thankful for Ginkgo trees. Among other things, of course.

That's my old front yard and my old ginco tree! I absolutely LOVED that tree....it will completely lose all the leaves in one day.....from our old living room in literally looked like it was snowing ginco leaves for the entire day.....
Saw a few of those on our run Thanksgiving morning right after I read this post..made me think of ya'll! They are beautiful, and nice to put a name to them!
