Re-cap

We had a very productive weekend. The Love of My Life and I spent Saturday morning shopping for one of these:

We went to two places and I'm still not satisfied. I mean, all I want is a linen covered glider with white piping. Is that too much for a girl to ask for? None of this micro suede stuff, or that minky dot stuff. No sir. I just want some linen.

We got home and LOML did a little of this (terrible pictures but you get the idea...true raised panel drapery pockets + two piece crown = pretty sweet nursery):

...while I went looking for some linen to maybe do a custom chair.

And then I got home and worked on painting the inside of the "changing table":

...while LOML did a little of this:

We had a Chili Cookoff block party last night and yours truly tied for third place. The whopping $5 I won will be going to the baby fund (It might pay for a spring in the glider we pick). We have big plans to carve pumpkins early this week. The pumpkin master (aka The Love of My Life) will be bringing the heat. I'm sure he's got secret plans for a spectacular jackolantern creation.

*I do have a confession: I kind of cheated on the chili. If you want the recipe, pick up a package of Chili-O seasoning. It's on the back! I added a diced onion and threw it in while the meat browned and then put it all in the crock pot for about 6 hours on low. Lip smackin' good. :)
