Today is my last weekday off before school (in service) starts on Monday. Although I got a full week longer than my public school teacher friends, I'm wanting just one more week. All you corporate America people, I know what you're thinking. That I'm so fortunate to get my summers off. And yes, I am.
It's always nice to get in bed knowing that you can sleep as late as you want the next day. This was...gasp...the last night that I could do this before school starts. I crawled in bed, read for awhile, then turned out the light. Love of My Life was working on fixing his wake board boots (because he's selling his board and boots- woohoo!) and got into bed after I had fallen asleep. This just got the restless night started. I woke up to all the commotion- it takes LOML a bit to get settled. Basically it's like I'm trying to sleep on the floor of a WWF wrestling ring while two meaty men go at it, slamming one another onto the floor. I did fall back asleep. But something else woke me up around 1:00. That something that I have heard before...scratching. Running. Scratching. Gash darn it! Mr. Jingles, as LOML has dubbed him, is still up there in our ceiling or wall or wherever he is. I listened to that nasty creature playing in the insulation for a good three hours straight. Needless to say, my last weeknight of freedom was ruined.
Due to the events of last night, we have created a weekend to do list that involves the following:
removing all bird nests from our porch (I know, ew)
blocking any holes to our attic, no matter the size
spraying for bugs- inside and out
putting out fresh poison in the attic
Hopefully this will do the trick.
