anyway, i got to visit with them on wednesday (she was already home from the hospital!). while we were visiting, i pulled out a copy of something i intercepted at school last week. as i looked at their son, i was filled with awe, and a little anxiety as i wondered if he will grow to think along the same lines as this particular student...i mean, he's so innocent, as i'm sure my student was too, at 29 hours old.
i debated about whether or not to post it here....but i figured, as long as i keep my little angel's name to myself, no harm done. let me preface this by saying that for our reading lesson that day, we were discussing "author's purpose". we had just finished reading a collection of questions and answers written to a columnist at a newspaper. the assignment was to come up with your own question, trade papers with your neighbor, and write a response. i am only disclosing the question, as the response was so offensive, i couldn't bear to share...this is what goes through the mind of an eight year old boy (or this 8 year old boy at least....)
SO, i wish you luck with your boys!
