Hiding

I'm still not quite ready to emerge from under the rock where I've been living. The truth is, we haven't been up to much. But it feels like we've been up to everything.

I made a quick solo trip to Dixie to celebrate at my we've-been-great-friends-since-kindergarten friend's bridal tea. Y'all, the 8 hours I spent in the car were blissful. I suppose I've done it so much, I haven't realized how stressful it really is to travel with a child. A child. Not children. I'm guessing it gets more complicated. Throw in potty training and I might die.

LOML made quite the sacrifice for me to go on my one night vacation. It was a really, REALLY big deal for me to go by myself. My sweet husband hung up his lanyard Saturday afternoon at the conclusion of the season. It was the last weekend of duck season and he skipped hunting on Sunday to take care of Little One. The following picture was in my inbox this morning, along with a precious note thanking me for patience with his hobby. Whoa.

We're looking forward to a low key weekend. I'm gonna make a big ole pot of chili in my new dutch oven. Speaking of dutch ovens...LOML loves to "dutch oven." You know, trap a poot in the sheets. He's decided to start calling it "Le Creuset" just to dress it up a bit. Try it. You will laugh EVERY time, I promise.

Hooray for excellent husbands! :-) And my Le Creuset dutch oven (lime green, of course) is the pride of my kitchen. I use it every week!

Hi!
I think I'm hiding under a rock, also. I sat down to comment on your last post about 10 times but never quite managed to hit "submit." Your words really hit home with me...I wanted to scream "ditto! ditto! ditto!.. wanting to be good at the job, battling life's circumstances, and my own little one who is currently obsessed with a very grumpy "no!"However, it IS awfully sweet to come home after a hard day to a precious l.o. even with the temper trantrums and all! Hope you guys enjoy your low key weekend. That's just exactly what sounds perfect to me, too!

Love the new header!!!

Your husband has amazing talents!!! And so glad you got to get away for a night! I'm always telling The Engineer he doesn't understand how fortunate he is to have a decent commute to and from work BY HIMSELF!!! :)

Love you!

Sometimes I wonder if it's genetically possible for them to grasp what we do all day. Sometimes I can't remember what I did all day... but I know it's important and will hopefully yield two beautiful young gentlemen one day.
I hope that there are times when they are at work and miss us terribly, jealous of what WE get to do with our little ones all day. I hope so at least.

Your new header is AWESOME!

Also, you have inspired me to be a more patient hunter's wife {next season}. I get better every year - really.

Glad you had some car time ALONE!

Um, Rob dutch ovens me all the time. ALL. the. time. Normally I think it's funny, but sometimes he gets punched in the kidney. Then I think it's REALLY funny. :)
