A word of thanks

For Thanksgiving, we spent a few days down in Dixie visiting my mom. She loves Thanksgiving. She breaks out all the china, silver, and crystal. And in her thoughtfulness, is sure to include everyone and their mothers on the guest list. She's precious like that. It was a lovely celebration of gratitude.

Little One spent some quality time with the cousins. All of 'em from my side were there. She played...hard. She learned a lot, things like how to hold a {toy} gun, how to throw a football, and how to run her pants off. You know, the important things. LO and one cousin had a 30 minute shirtless throw down one night. They both had those wild eyes that come from lack of sleep and over stimulation. It was awesome.

Love of My Life took a quick jaunt over to Georgia to hunt his heart out with an old college roommate. I think it might have been the best Thanksgiving he's ever had. A good meal at mom's and then hunting to contentment for two days...that's something to be thankful for.

And when we returned home, we skipped church and picked up a tree, some garland, and a whole lot of clippings. We're all decked out at our house, having done several "Christmasy" things this year that I've never done before. My favorite new addition? A homemade Advent wreath. While we missed Sunday's candle lighting, we had our own little service tonight at home. Stay tuned for some Christmas cheer.
