...Along Came Herman the Worm

Do you remember that song? I'm pretty sure we sang it all the day long at the 6th grade overnight field trip to Camp Cosby. (Sittin' on a fencepost, chewin my bubblegum....) Anyway, Love of My Life discovered Herman while planting our tomato plants. And someone took a liking to him.

Did you know that the best way to plant a tomato plant is to bury a third of it in the ground? And do it sideways?? So says the master gardener, my FIL. It's worked every time we've planted them. Which is twice. We're real experienced vegetable gardeners around here. But my FIL really is quite experienced, so heed his advice next summer when you plant your tomatoes.

Did you notice that cute pool that Little One could care less about? It has since bitten the dust, which saddens me because we spent many an afternoon chilling in that pool last summer. Little One was tiny. Remember? It's been replaced, even though she'd rather collect rocks in a bucket than spend much time in the water.

Remember??

When my tomatoes finally grow and ripen, I'll be using them in a fantastic new recipe I just tried out of inspiration from my sis's yummy something similar. Little One eats it up, too. Check back for Edamame Salad. Yum!
