With Easter morning came muffins and Easter bunny treats. We enjoyed watching Little One rip into her basket(s), leaving behind one treasure for another. I put off getting ready for church and ended up scurrying around the house, pulling out every "springish" item of clothing I own trying to pull an outfit together. It was a good way to clean out my closet. I ended up standing in the kitchen in my underwear, ironing pants (mine and LOML's) while Little One looked on curiously. I had rigged her up in the highchair with some un-needed milk to keep her occupied. Somehow I managed to get it together enough to be fully dressed, and have our meal in the oven before we even left for church. It was an Easter miracle.
The egg hunt we attended on Saturday was bursting at the seems with fun. Little One was VERY excited (at least her hair was), but then got a little overwhelmed by all the children. She wasn't so into it. Maybe next year.
Easter hits a sentimental chord in my heart. I can still feel my little girl excitement over hunting for the eggs my grandmother filled with sweets and coins. I remember the roasted lamb and green mint jelly. I can picture my extended family filling an entire pew and then some at church. Easter marks the anniversary of the Love of My Life meeting my family. And it's the last holiday I celebrated with both my mom and my dad around the table.
It's also the day that Jesus Christ shattered the chains of bondage and offered our broken world redemption. Oh, how I long for the restoration that He promises. Rejoice!

Katie, if there ever was s sure-fire way to get the kids to cooperate for an Easter (or any other holiday for that matter) photo, I'd pay $100 for it. I've been missing the blog world lately- but had some time to kill today. Yours is really sweet.
