When I found out I was el preggo with Little One, I knew that I'd be a nursing mama. Or at least try my hand at it. If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you know things weren't always peaches. We had a hard time. But I wasn't willing to give up. I learned more about lactation than I ever desired to know. And somehow we continued in our nursing venture all the way to the present.
And now, my nursing adventure is coming to a close. We've had some good times together. We've lactated through clothes. We've smelled like maple syrup. And, oh the places we've pumped. But she's 12 months old. She's ready. I think we're breaking up. Maybe we're better suited as friends, okay? See you 'round, lactation.

Well, I'm right there with ya, friend. I, too, am saying goodbye to lactation as of this weekend. She's breaking up with me a little early, at 9 mos. But, it was good while it lasted. On to better things, right? And having our ta-tas back, let's just be honest!!!! :-)
woo hoo! You fought the good fight. You finished the race. Way to go, K!! I'm about half way there now. Trying to decide what to do with my frozen supply that's about to reach it's mark. Donate or deep freeze just in case??
We're breaking up, too. (Lactation and me - not you and me!) I have to say that I have a happy/sad emotion about it. We're both ready to quit, but I'm sad to see those sweet, snuggly rocking chair moments coming to an end. Well, pat yourself on the back because nursing for a year is an AWESOME accomplishment!
You did a great job! I quit at 10 and a half months and Will did GREAT transitioning to milk in a sippy cup. We have not looked back since....oh how free I feel not having to drag that stupid pump with me everywhere I went and not having to sterilize those parts!!!!
Wow - what an awesome mom you are!!! I am at the 4 1/2 month mark and keep telling myself - you can do this... keep going! Thanks for the encouragement!
Good job, Katie! That's awesome you made it this far!
Get yourself some green cabbage leaves. They make all the difference in the world!
My last time was the morning of her 1st birthday. Bittersweet. I am so proud of you to make it through! I am with you on the strange pumping places. Wow - there have been some intersting times and places... fun times! :)
Ella and I broke up at 9 months. Actually, she broke up with me. I was really sad for about 2 days...but, then I realized how much EASIER my life got! What an awesome mom you are for sticking with it!
Congrats!! That is a major achievement!
You Rock!!! I love your blog and your pictures...my baby girl is just six short weeks behind yours. I have never commented before. I saw the pictures and just couldn't resist! Wow, time goes fast! Thanks for sharing!!
Katie, you are my lactation guru! You are awesome and such an inspiration. Thanks for all your encouragement! You are an amazing mother!
