Today The Love of My Life and I paid the final penny on all debt we have ever incurred (minus our mortgage)! Oh, glorious financial freedom! I'm leaving my ball and chain behind and never looking back!! It was a terribly long road (4 1/2 years) and a humbling thing to pay for all the financially irresponsible choices we made. But we have gained a tremendous amount of financial wisdom that can only be learned, not taught.
If you are interested in learning how we made these life changes, we followed Dave Ramsey's baby steps. And though we did not do everything by the book, we have made our way to this point successfully. Thank the Lord for my sis and BIL who dragged (and I do mean dragged) us to a Dave Live Event back in 2005.

And speaking of freedom, I hope your heart rejoices in the freedom that we have in Christ, through his death and resurrection. That my sins are washed away by the blood of the lamb is the ultimate freedom. I pray that truth would resonate in our hearts as we celebrate Easter this Sunday. Happy Holy Week, Happy Easter! Here's to peace and freedom!

Congrats Katie!! Awesome news! We should go celebrate!
Woo Hoo!! Congratulations! That is SUCH a huge weight off your back.
We're doing Dave Ramsey as well. It is GREAT (and hard). We have the goal of being debt free by this time next year!! All we have left is my grad school debt.
Congrats, K! I'm sure that feels amazing!!! I fear I will be lugging around my law school debt until the day I die.
That is HUGE! Congrats! And God will bless you so much from that!
So happy for y'all! I'm sure the feeling is just amazing!!! And, you've likely developed spending/saving habits that you will take with you FOREVER!!!
that is so awesome! I wish we could go to one of those events.......cause we REALLY need it!
Congratulations!
that is wonderful! I remember when B. and I paid off the last bit of debt! Girl, it was an amazing feeling! Now, we still have house, and his glorious student loan from UA. However, the freedom to be on a cash only and no credit is wonderful. Now, I will admit 2 years ago when we went through our Dave Ramsey course you could hear me screaming "I hate Dave Ramsey" while B. and I were completing the "work sheets":-) B. would just smile at me and remind me that this is what God has called our family to do:-) I am so proud of you Katie B.
Hey--blog question. Have you taken your blog public again? Because I see that it is updated on people's blogs and I know once you go private it no longer shows updates. I would love to figure out a way for my private blog to show up on google reader for family, friends, etc. What does your new blog allow you to do?
