Baby Update

We've got a big 16 week-er on our hands now and boy has Miss Little One been a-changin. She's been talking since about 7 weeks, but now she's actually conversing. In the car, in her crib, at the store, in my arms...she'll talk your ears off and boy is it lovely to hear.

The smiles, oh the smiles. I can't get enough of em. That toothless grin is darling. And she means to smile, too. We went shopping today and that little bit wouldn't quit grinning at the ladies oohing and ahhing. So precious.

She's been rolling over from her tummy to her back. In fact, I find her rolled over in her crib quite frequently, like I did at 12:15 this morning. She hasn't woken up in the middle of the night since she was 9 weeks old (ok, except when we were out of town and the night we returned home), so that cry scared me last night. I hustled into her nursery and there she was, flipped over hollering for help. Poor thing is like a turtle. Once she gets on her back, she's stuck.

Apparently her fingers are as delicious as pie. Those things stay in or around her mouth at all times. Sometimes it's her thumb, sometimes her two middle fingers, sometimes a whole fist (or two). Whichever combo she chooses to stick in that mouth of hers, it's delectable.

I'm still waiting for her to giggle on demand. When she gets one out, it's so stinkin' cute I can hardly stand it. If she giggles at one thing and you try it again, you're sure NOT to ellicit the same response. I suppose Little One simply saves that music for really special times.

Being home to witness each of these miracles has been a gift. And to think they say it just keeps getting better...I must have a whole lot to look forward to!
