A big week

Although it's only Tuesday, Little One has had a pretty big week. We went to church for the first time on Sunday. The service starts at 10:30. I got up at 7:45 simply to get Little One and myself ready. It took an entire 2.5 hours before we were ready to walk out the door. Welcome to the beginning of the rest of my life!! We were one of three couples that brought new children to church for the first time that day! Jeffrey (our pastor) had each family stand and show off their babies. I got a little choked up. How my arms had ached for a little one...and in His time, God answered our prayers. And now, our covenant child is here and our church is ready to nurture her and train her in truth. Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us!

Then on Monday, Little One became officially recognized as a United States citizen. Her social security card came. Which in turn confirmed her as a dependent on our family's health insurance plan (and for our 2009 taxes!). I guess I can go ahead and work on getting that official birth certificate now. That she is here is still a bit surreal.

And today, we will take LO to set up a college savings plan. College? Really? We selected our financial advisor based on Dave Ramsey's recommendation (ELP- endorsed local provider). The first time we met him, I about fell off the couch where we were waiting. This dude does not fit the "financial advisor mold." The tattoos and earrings prove it. When Matt contacted him regarding our desires to set up this account, he requested that we bring Little One because he needed to meet her. heehee. That this rough-around-the-edges guy has a soft spot for babies makes me laugh.

Of course, even a hard hearted person would melt when they met this little girl.
