A time for everything...

Two Sundays ago, Love of My Life and I headed in to church and ended up sitting in a different spot than normal. Everything was fine, except for this fuzzy vision keeping me from focusing on Jeffrey. Anyway, about midway through the sermon, I heard it for the first time. I recognized the sound immediately. I saw LOML wince. I thought that it would stop after that one little click. But it continued. A young woman sitting in the row behind us was clipping her fingernails. Now, I understand everyone needs to clip their nails. I thank her for having good hygiene; however, as the wise King Solomon tells us, there is a time (and a place) for everything. During the middle of a sermon is not exactly the ideal place to give yourself a little manicure. I kept thinking, "what is she doing with the nails? Are they on the floor? Did she dump them in her purse?" We were both totally grossed out. It went on for so long that I about had to turn around to check if she was working on her toes. When church ended, Love of My Life saw this young woman PASS the fingernail clippers down the aisle to their actual owner. This was so wrong on so many levels. I promise to all of you out there reading this, that I will NEVER clip my nails in church. I expect the same out of you! :)
