To catch you up on our life, we've been pretty busy. I did go to jury duty, which wasn't what I expected at all. I didn't get out of it (at least not yet), and picked the week of November 17th to serve my time. I wasn't allowed to ask any questions. Of the 3000 other citizens in that one room with me, I couldn't show my letter to any of them. Quite distraught, I listened very closely to all the exemptions, but not being 70, a convicted felon, a full time student, or in the military, it looks like I'll be spending at least a week of my life in a courtroom. We will see.
Love of My Life and I then headed to east for a quick trip to visit his parents. His sweet dad had coordinated a 60th birthday bash for his sweet mom and we had a delightful time. I just wish we could have stayed longer. We returned on Monday and LOML's mom came to our neck of the woods on Tuesday.
I spent my afternoons last week preparing for a baby shower that I agreed to host this past weekend. Wow. Next time I'm 12 weeks pregnant, I'll try to be more sane about things. I love my sweet friend, but I should have waited until later. Her baby, due in three weeks, might have been a guest as well. It was fun to break out the silver and the china. I got to use my grandmother's china for the first time. With butterflies and pink accents, it was perfect. Here are a few pictures I snapped of the shower (or should I say, shower decor):
That is a sweet bird nest on the wreath. Lauren (the guest of honor) is just as obsessed as I am with anything eggs. She even purchased original egg prints for her nursery. :)
I borrowed the baby carriage from a friend (again). Flowers compliments of moi.
Saturday night, after a good three hour nap, Love of My Life and I headed over to the Hill's house for a little Auburn football. We endured the excruciating game. It was pretty painful. But at least we were in good company. And enjoyed homemade chocolate chip cookies, straight from the oven. Although the game was rough, the cookies were worth it.
I'm hoping to feel better soon. Especially since my sweet friend Lindsay is coming for a visit this weekend! I can't wait!
