snow day

how i prayed last night, that i would get up at 6:15 this morning, turn on the news and find that i didn't have to go to work today. perhaps i should have slept with a spoon under my pillow (apparently, that brings the snow??). wishful thinking.

i typically have ten classes every day. each class today has done a snow dance..in anticipation of the snow to come. usually the weather does a nice little donut around our city. but maybe, just maybe, we'll get lucky. of course, it would happen on a friday. i was hoping for at least a 12:30 dismissal, but that is looking a little grim.

i remember as a little girl, the excitement of the snow...my little sister really liked it. in fact, we have a home video of her liking it so much that she wouldn't keep her pants pulled up. she would waddle out in the yard, bundled up like ralphie from a christmas story, and pull those pants right down. i love that memory!
