so, stephanie emailed me to let me know my desk was ready today. after just one week! i am so excited about it. LOML and i picked it up this evening and i have been busily organizing. pictures don't really do it justice because it doesn't look all that much different...but it really is. she spent some time sanding and aging the original paint job and then put a light glaze over it. just see what you think:

she did some silver leafing on the knobs...the perfect fit, until i find some that i really like. i wish i could find these as drawer pulls. just above the desk, Love of my Life hung a painting that was a wedding gift. one of LOML's best friend's late grandfather was an artist and his grandmother let me pick one painting out of the many that he did. it is a prized possession.
