Last Week's Birthday

Little One soaked it up. From donuts for breakfast to meeting daddy for lunch, she celebrated in big ways. For supper, we feasted on her favorites...spaghetti and broccoli. She doesn't just enjoy spaghetti. LO begins by inhaling it and then slows down to enjoy every last delectable bite. I love the way that girl is passionate about food. Her thighs and jowls say it all.

We concluded supper with cupcakes and singing. Little One took it upon herself to conduct us in our performance of the Happy Birthday song. It was hilarious. She waved those arms with intention and conviction. Oh, the joy she brings us!

The pretty birthday packages had been resting on the mantel for about a week. Little One had eyed them early on and was certainly patient as she waited to find out what was inside. She was pretty keyed up when she saw NayNay and Papaw's gift of a play kitchen and tearing into the gifts made it even better!

Saturday's party didn't dissapoint. I had to wake her just before guests began arriving. As her BFF and first party go-er walked up the driveway, LO could see her through the back door. She squeeled in delight saying, "they came! They came!!!" One of my favorite pictures of the day is of LO and her grandmothers helping her down the steps to greet her friend.
We had tons of littles running around, celebrating the life of our girl. We strung beaded necklaces and planted seeds in tiny pots. We even had a special guest, Bunny, who sat ever so sweetly in her cage. It was the most beautiful day the Lord gave us. A great day to celebrate life!
*sadly, there are zero pictures of the birthday girl with her mama. or her Bobo (my mom). you mamas out there....be intentional about the pictures you take! arg!*

Love the bunnies, your delicate details, and the sweet expressions on your little birthday girl. I've gotta tell you, a little one with thighs and jowls is quite a precious, heart-warming sight. I'm quite partial, myself. :)
