Shortcuts and Rule breaking

I am a rule follower. I hate breaking them. I can't stand to walk in the Lowe's exit doors. I will NOT get in the express lane if I have 11 items. I don't take many shortcuts because a lot of shortcuts are taken by manipulating the rules. However, I've found a few shortcuts that have revolutionized the way I live...as in, I will never be the same.

#1 Youtube Playlists: Okay, okay. I admit I'm totally behind the times on this one. I've never needed it until I had a toddler. Little One loves Elmo. I'm talking she eats, sleeps, breathes Elmo. I hear his name 112, 374 times a day. And sweet Dabby (Abby Cadabby), too. Youtube has an over abundance of Sesame Street clips that average 1 minute 27 seconds each. It gets old finding a new video or replaying the same one over and OVER and OVER. Enter the PLAYLIST. Hello? Why didn't I find this before? Please don't judge. This is how I cook supper shuppa. So we can eat family dinner every night. Priorities.

If you're interested, our top three favorite clips are Maggie Gyllenhaal and the Surprise, Will.I.Am's awesome monster music video, and ABC's with Tilly and the Wall.

#2 Frozen chopped onion: I've known about it, just never tried it. Save your tears for something else. These are cry proof and save TONS of time in prep (unless you are a super cook and can dice like no other). When Kroger marks their frozen veggies down to 88 cents a bag, I stock up. While you're at it, you might want to try out the chopped green bell pepper too.

Now, if you're not into shortcuts, you have got to try Pioneer Woman's homemade cinnamon rolls. Y'all, they have changed my life. Pillsbury won't ever cut it again. If you have a few hours and a few thousand calories to spare, try them. You won't be the same either.

I LOVE PW's cinnamon rolls...I have to clean melted butter off my counters for days when I make them but they are oh-so-worth it!

You know I can't STAND to break the rules- to the point that I've probably missed out on a few fun things in my life. Of course I would go and marry someone who thinks the rules don't apply to him. Maybe our children will find the happy medium.

Ok, where are these veggies you speak of??? I went to our grocery store today and didn't find ANY pre-chopped veggies (except broccoli of course). Curses! I must have these!
