Not much to report here, folks. School starts back a week from today. My heart is a mix of emotions. On the one hand, I love to spend my days investing in my little girl. On the other hand, it will be quite nice to gain the structure that a three day work week requires.

I have loved my summer days. I have loved spending too much time in my pajamas and laughing with Little One. It has been so lovely. Truly, truly I believe that the deep enjoyment I have at home comes only from understanding what it's like to not be here. I will miss that sweet face while I'm at work, but I also feel very content. I thank God for that.

But I'm not back at school quite yet and we're spending these last days playing pretty hard. Little One is learning things at an alarming rate- things like how to take your diaper off at nap time. Yeah. Thank goodness "the big event" (
as my cousin calls it) had surprisingly not happened at the normal time today. Disaster averted...this time. Whew.

You are so funny! Someone I knew (can't remember who) had to start putting on naptime diapers backwards because of a big event. Just for reference. So thankful for your contentment!
So funny that you just posted this...we had two firsts yesterday..."the big event" during nap time AND Priss took her diaper off for the very first time (also during nap time). It's been the first time in a long time that I gagged. We had a little talk during which I explained that only Mommy takes diapers off, and Priss happily replied "Okay!" Now, I'm going to pray that she understood what she was agreeing to!
Oh wow. I could have written this exact same post. I hear everything you're saying... heart a mix of emotions... little girl vs structure, pjs, laughter, sweet face but contentment at work, little girl that's learning things at an alarming rate... we're right behind your little one. And I love, too, that our girls are so similar. I think we'd definitely have some bff's if the distance b/t us wasn't there. I go back a week from today... thinking about you as we play, laugh, love this week!
P.S. LOVE that big ole bow. I'm currently fighting a battle with my little monkey who is very much anti-bow. Any suggestions?
