It's a new favorite. I've always loved Ezra Jack Keats, and I enjoy reading The Snowy Day to Little One even now. But this. This book is fantastic. Although it's simply the lyrics to The Little Drummer Boy, the illustrations are beautiful. They capture what I imagine to be the ethnic appearance of Mary and the wise men. It has captivated my imagination. See for yourself.

Pa rum pum pum pum
I bought this book the other day.

And have you ever stopped to think about what you're singing? How precious the heart of the little drummer boy is- that he was poor, with nothing to give. And he sought to please the new baby king by using his gifts, by playing his drum. Isn't that what we're called to do? Honor the King of Kings by using the gifts he has given.
