So long, farewell...

I just got home from a goodbye lunch for my friend Emilee. Remember her? Emilee is the one that guided me through making the gown for Little One. Uber talented and patient Emilee is packing up her fam and moving to Cincinatti for a year while her husband does a little Med school jaunt. I think it's called a fellowship but I don't know. Regardless, it is a sad day as I say goodbye to one of the first girls I called my friend up here in my "new" city. Emilee's first daughter's baby shower was the very first party I was invited to as a newcomer to town. While pregnant with LO, Emilee was expecting a surprise herself...we practically shared a due date- her's the 26th and mine the 27th. She's a special friend and I'm so glad that our paths have continued to cross over the last 4 years.

I had wanted to stay longer than we did, but Miss Little One had other plans. We had to leave after only 45 minutes.

I learned a few more things today:
a. A small breech in schedule can be detrimental to LO's emotional health
b. Chunky spit up down the front of my dress is more unbecoming than I realized
c. LO has a louder cry than I thought (she turned EVERY head as her wailing caused quite a distraction)

And as we made the trek to the car, that little booger fell right to sleep. Crying that loud and that much is just exhausting.

Em, we will miss you and look forward to your return!
