Holy Moly

When Little One has her crying fits in the late afternoons, we go outside and survey the new growth around the yard. She has learned all about hydrangeas, snow hill salvia, azaleas, coneflowers, dahlias, dianthus, the list goes on...Well, as I was paying attention to details around the house, I noticed this little pile of sawdust caught on the window ledge.

We never got around the painting these shutters as we were in desperate need of a window covering (it looks into the shower). Anyway, with further inspection, I saw the perfect little drilled out hole.

As we approached the front porch, I saw the tell tale sign of more holes- wood shavings on the bricks.

I looked up and found this:

We can't have any little creature messing with these bad boys. Although the wrought iron was delightful in its time, I prefer the cypress beams that The Love of My Life replaced them with.

And wowzers, do those pansies need to go. That was on the to do list this weekend, until the four days straight rains came. I'm ready for some sunshine around here!

So, you smarty pants readers out there, DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT IS MAKING THESE HOLES? And if so, HOW DO WE GET RID OF THEM???
