Endings and Beginnings

I am officially out of school for the summer. Things have been a bit hectic with the end of the year buzz. Most teachers (and all students) can't wait until summer break. In this regard, I am unlike the majority of educators that walk the Earth. I actually like my job SO much, that summer isn't all that exciting. I know, weird. Several of my students made me a collection of notes that I will file away and look back on years down the road. Here are a few...and by the way, the class I teach is called Learning Lab (or learing or leaning as some students have spelled it...I'm not picky). I work with small groups of students that struggle with math and/or reading, grades K-4th. Obviously, I still have some work to do.

On the other hand, I don't know how corporate America does it. I mean, I do LOVE my job. But I need the refreshment that only summer can bring. I'm already enjoying my time away- there isn't an article of dirty clothing in my house, my petunias have been deadheaded, Cole and Avery are up to date on their vaccines, and I just brought home my new best friend- a Bissell Flip Ease (25 bucks at Tuesday Morning). I'm actually looking forward to working out each morning, or at least 3 times a week; and starting my 4 days a week babysitting gig. I'm allowed the flexibility to make it to my niece's 4th birthday party in the deep south, celebrate Love of My Life's grandmother's 90 years of life in Louisiana, hit up a few out of town weddings, and welcome the birth of my third nephew in August. This summer is shaping up to be pretty sweet. What are YOU doing this summer?
