Faux pau

it's been a busy week. my time after work is eaten up with my calendar's agenda. i haven't even had the chance to flip through my lastest traditional home or edition of people. bottom line...work is just really getting in my way. i have things to do; new mothers to drop off dinner to, southern living at home parties to go to, community group get togethers, and a really good book i'm trying to read... work is taking up too much time. in all the hustle and bustle of this week, i was looking forward to just ONE thing. (well, looking forward to the most...) and it was planned for today.

when i woke up this morning, i wasn't thinking about my exciting errand. i was overwhelmed with thoughts like, "now, how do i change the resolution on that hideous baby picture for such and such's eighth grade graduation ad page in the annual? is there a way to change a pdf read only file to a jpeg? what activities am i going to do in tutoring? father in law's birthday gift- check; grocery list- check, deposits for the bank- check." i was thinking... but i wasn't. i completely forgot that today was the day for me to take LOML's truck to work so that i could transport the old desk that my great-grandfather built to this lady's studio. she is going to refinish it for me (or faux finish)! (click on the link- she will be sanding, aging, and glazing my old white desk and then stenciling the inside with a damask pattern!!) i am slowly but surely working on the decorating around our little house and i have been looking forward to this for weeks! how could i have forgotten? my husband emailed me early in the day asking if i was still "taking that desk somewhere or something?" and then came my new plan. i can hardly wait to get my desk back!! :)
